Help us build the future of storytelling and literary participation in the UK and Ireland
In 10 years, the Jhalak Prize has grown from an intervention for fairness and inclusivity in publishing to a foundational literary and cultural ecosystem which extends across: 

 

• Three annual literary awards for Children’s & Young Adult, Poetry and Prose books

• Three annual Art Residencies celebrating artists and book illustrators of colour who produce unique ‘trophies’ for each Jhalak Prize winner

• The bi-annual Jhalak Review that reaches over 25,000 readers in its print and online editions

• Our growing network of Jhalak Bookshop Partners across UK and Ireland

• Jhalak Prize Schools Project that dismantles barriers to books and literary culture through partnerships with schools

 

For over a decade, we have helped expand representation and create community through literature. Jhalak Foundation hopes to build a more expansive and participatory literary culture for the next decade and beyond.
